Business Administration

 

Business Administration as taught at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration is a research programme with a practical slant – typified by its empirical and quantitative focus. The Faculty enjoys a high level of funding not least because of the superlative quality of research produced by its professors. Projects conducted in close collaboration with industry ensure that students get the best possible preparation for real working life.

Empirical and econometric methods are taught with a practical reference. To this end students have access to the RWE-sponsored trading centre as well as the latest computer technologies.</span> Students are also able to use professional software to perform data analyses. The Essen Campus also boasts a computer centre with around 200 work stations – the largest centre of its kind in Germany. This compact course teaches our students the skills they require to perform their own empirical analyses for the clarification, forecasting and simulation of the practical issues often thrown up in a business management context.

The programme is supplemented with online SAP courses exclusively offered by the Essen Campus.

Building on the Business Administration bachelor’s programme, the Faculty offers a master’s programme with the business studies courses Energy and Finance, Health-care Economics and Health-care System Management together with Medicine Management, an interdisciplinary course.
