Faculty of Business Administration and Economics - Well-Connected in the Economic Field
The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics has a national and international network of partners and cooperations.
Not only do we offer research and teaching activities through the institutes and academic chairs, we also organise the annual job fair "ConPract". Moreover, we support the set-up of one's own business in the net economy via E-Entrepreneurship.
The biannual graduation ceremonies of the faculty also benefit from this network: well-known speakers give speeches and grant an insight into their industrial sector and professional career:

ConPract
ConPract is the abbreviation for ‚Connect to Practice‘. It gives students the possibility to interact and connect with potential employers.
The fair brings companies and students together, enables in-depth discussions and intense interactions. Moreover, it enables students an early access to internships that can be integrated into their studies, so that they can gain initial practical experience in their fields.
The events 'Handel trifft Hochschule‘ and 'Markenartikler treffen Hochschule' are supplementary offers of the faculty that work hand in hand with ConPract.

E-Entrepreneurship
The chairs for Business Administration and Business Information Systems, and esp. the chair for E-Business and E-Entrepreneurship, offer on the one hand an excellent academical training and on the other hand knowledge for a successful E-Business start-up.
It is a connection between economical and technical teaching fields with the goal to intensify the usage of digital business processes (E-Business) and the founding of new business start-ups in the Net Economy.

Student Organizations in the Faculty
act e.V.
act is a student consulting service and a coalition of students from different faculties of the campus Essen. Highly motivated students get the chance to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. The consultants develop customized solutions in project groups and generate a sustainable success for costumers.

Alumni WiWi Essen e.V.
With its roughly 1000 members, the Alumi WiWi Essen e.V. is the biggest 'club of graduates' at the University of Duisburg-Essen. The goal of the club is to promote a practical and performance-oriented scientific education, to intensify the exchange of experience and to support the professional development of the graduates.

Bundesverband der Volks- und Betriebswirte (BDVB) e.V.
Since 1901 the Network for Economists represents the interests of all economists in Germany. Primary task of the association is to promote graduates when starting their career as well as the support of research projects.

Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) e.V.
GI is the biggest network of computer scientists in Germany which was founded in 1969 in Bonn. The goal of this network is to promote computer science as such.
GI holds regular symposia and congresses, promotes the release of technical publications and especially supports young talents.
