Short interview with Prof Dr Lucia Bellora-Bienengräber (translated)
1. What particularly appeals to you about your new professorship at the University of Duisburg-Essen?
"The UDE offers a lively, interdisciplinary environment in the centre of the Ruhr region, which provides me with many points of contact for innovative research and a close connection between science and practice. In the Ruhr region, economic, ecological and social transformation is not just a buzzword, but something that can be experienced and realised every day."
2. Your research combines management accounting with the topic of sustainability. Which topics would you particularly like to promote in research and teaching at UDE in the future - and why these in particular?
"I will focus more on topics such as sustainable corporate management, the use of AI in controlling and the role of values and personality in organisations in research and teaching. It is particularly important to me to teach students how management tools in companies can not only deliver figures, but also convey values and responsibility."
3. You have worked at various international universities. What experiences or impulses would you particularly like to bring to your new role in Duisburg-Essen?
"My time in the Netherlands, the USA and Germany has shown me how differently research cultures work. I would like to bring the openness and diversity that I experienced there to Duisburg-Essen."
The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics warmly welcomes Prof Dr Lucia Bellora-Bienengräber and looks forward to the new impulses she will bring to research, teaching and transfer.
